05 Jul Maximizing Efficiency and Reducing Costs with a Front-End Optimization
BDIT Engineering successfully developed and maintained the core functionality of NCX’s landowner platform, which helps landowners find suitable programs for their land. Additionally, we developed a new app for NCX’s partners, enabling them to manage programs and gain insights into landowners interested in their offerings.

About the Client
Natural Capital Exchange (NCX) is a startup based in the USA that specializes in assisting landowners in finding the most suitable programs for their land, promoting nature-positive land management practices. They support a variety of programs so that landowners can make the best use of their land and get paid for their resources: water, wildlife, timber, solar energy, carbon, or even recreation.
They needed a flexible way to expand their development team without sacrificing quality and sought a partner who could provide skilled engineers to join their team smoothly and contribute to their application development.
“BDIT engineers have been instrumental in achieving our product vision. Their speed, technical knowledge, and ability to coordinate independently with my team have exceeded my expectations.”
– Riaz Jahangir, Director of Engineering at NCX
About the Project
NCX’s platform, serving over 20,000 users nationwide, required continuous improvement and innovation to meet the demands of its three distinct user groups: landowners, partners, and consultants.
Their Landowners application required the implementation of new core functionalities, which were successfully integrated and continuously upgraded. We also developed a new Partners app as an extension of the existing Landowners app, providing their partners with insights into the programs offered on the platform.
The team included one full-time BDIT Front-end developer who worked closely with the client’s team of five. They had weekly sync meetings and communicated via email and Slack.
Results
Improved User Experience and Engagement:
The new features and upgraded functionalities of the Landowner app enhanced the platform’s usability, leading to increased engagement and user satisfaction.
Cost Savings:
By replacing the third party service with an in-house solution, NCX saved on subscription fees.
Improved Performance:
By migrating from Create React App (CRA) to Vite and upgrading obsolete libraries, we achieved a reduction in build times and improved application performance.
Seamless Migration:
During this project, NCX was able to innovate and improve its platform while maintaining a seamless user experience for all stakeholders.
Our collaboration with NCX highlights our commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions that drive innovation and success for our clients. By helping NCX enhance its platform, we contribute to a more sustainable future where landowners can fully realize the value of their natural resources.
